This beautifully restored C. Bechstein Model A1, built in 1924, represents one of the finest examples of Bechstein’s interwar craftsmanship. Measuring approximately 183 cm (6 ft) in length, the A1 was an evolution of the earlier Model A — featuring a full 88-note keyboard instead of the shorter compass found in its predecessor.

This instrument has undergone a complete, high-level restoration, including a new black polyester high-gloss finish, while preserving the original structure and acoustic integrity. The piano features distinctive square legs mounted to the case on cast-iron cleats, a characteristic hallmark of the Bechstein A1 design from this period.

Unlike earlier Bechstein models equipped with the traditional tied action, this piano is fitted with a modern repetition (roller) action, providing a faster response and superior control across the dynamic range.

An outstanding example of classic German piano engineering — uniting refined aesthetics, responsive performance, and the unmistakable tone of Bechstein’s golden era.
